Lost Hope
Every college football fan can recall a time when their team was unfairly snubbed during the postseason. When that happens, fans can only wait for the next season to start in hopes that their team gets a decent preseason ranking from the same system that gypped them during bowl season. College football fans are tired of letting the coaches, the media, and questionable computer software tell them who the is best of the best. Instead, the true champion should be decided on the field instead of behind closed doors. An open playoff system is the only viable solution.
What Defines a True Champion
The idea for a college football playoff has been discussed for years, mostly in response to the BCS not producing a clear-cut champion. A playoff would easily prevent another LSU-USC or USC-Auburn situation, in which a team with an equal or better winning record was left out of the championship picture altogether. The proposed system would ensure that each of these teams played each other, as is only fair.
Fire the BCS!
However, a web site like this cannot change the college football postseason all by itself. We need your help! We have created a variety of letters and e-mails that college students can send to their university's President and Athletic Director. This site also provides ready-made petitions so that fans can gather signatures around campus and at games to advocate for a playoff system. Help us by becoming a leader on your campus and let's bust up the BCS before your team becomes its next victim.
BCSBusters.com was created to raise national awareness of the BCS' shortcomings, as well as to demand a playoff system be put in place to determine the national champion. The web site hosts an open forum for fans to collaborate and form a playoff system that everyone can agree with. With your interest and participation, we can change the entire post season!
